Arlington Scholars Program members will complete an independent study during their senior year. The student will select and conduct research under the supervision of a mentor, write a research paper, and present a Senior Project reflecting either the student’s academic focus area, a school or community-need project, or another real-world application of critical analysis and insight.
Capstone Research Topic 2017-18
All rising seniors will complete the Kuder Career Interest Inventory. A letter will be sent to each junior in the Scholars Program providing the activation code to complete the interest inventory. Scholars will select one career as the focus of their capstone experience. Research the identified career choice and explore areas such as the required educational background for the career, salary and other financial considerations for this career choice, as well as occupational outlook and trends associated with this career. The investigative component of your research should entail exploring a problem that is unique to this field. The reflective component should be comprised of your personal reflections based on your time shadowing or interviewing an individual currently employed in this field.
